Web Browser Forensics

Technorati tags: , , , ,

I recently had occasion to perform some web browser forensics. It had been a while since I had done this so a review of available information and tools was necessary. Keith J. Jones and Rohyt Belani have authored two papers on Web Browser Forensics. Part 1 deals predominately with IE while part 2 deals with Mozilla Firefox. Part 1 references two open source tools, Pasco and Web Historian. I found both valuable but the output from Pasco using the History.IE5 the most useful in my situation. Keith Jones authored a paper on the analysis of IE activity files that lead to the creation of Pasco.
